We have established the Association and registered it as a 'non-profit' organization on behalf of some thirteen thousand bogrei machon who live in Israel and throughout the Diaspora and who have passed through the doors of the Institute for Youth Leaders from Abroad - the Machon.
Our hope is that what we experienced continues on for future generations. We were young people who came from the four corners of the earth in order to get to learn, absorb and understand the values of Judaism, Zionism and to get to know Israel in all its different facets. It was the Machon which both theoretically and practically prepared us to be councilors and leaders and implanted in us the love of mankind and tolerance and a thirst for knowledge and affection for Israel. This institution has been in existence since 1946 and until today continues to educate youth in the same fashion, with the same thirst, enthusiasm and spirit that we experienced despite the changes that have occurred over the years both in Israel and abroad.
The activities of the graduates of the Machon are important not only for nostalgic reasons and the renewal of old friendships. but in order to strengthen our ties with a unique institute which for most of us who attended made a profound impression upon our lives and imprinted an indelible stamp on our character and sealed our association with Israel. It is important for us that the Machon continues it's activities and be the link with both the veteran graduates and those who are just finishing their experience. and are about to return to their communities. Those new councilors should know that those who preceded them are willing to give them their support while they are in the Diaspora and also when and if they decide to join those who live in Israel.
